So all of my team members, pull up your socks, assemble your team,
assemble your thoughts and try to put efforts in the vision of the organization
because I know that ‘Talent wins
games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships’. We have to
touch so many benchmarks in future.
Now our organization has set some short term goal to achieve success, if
company grows you people will automatically grow with organization, now company
has linked some development program with this short term goals for the benefit
of employees.
Ladies and
gentlemen,
Today, I will tell about our self-development program that’s design for
your carrier development in the future.
From our organization point of view, the first course that you have to
attend while working here is developing self-strength through good manners. This
thing becomes priority to our organization because as we know that, manners are
the one that shaped our life, our skill development, our future and almost
everything in this world.
I
would like to share some of the information you will learn in this course. 'Manners make a man' is a true saying. By
manners we mean proper and respectful behaviour towards all with whom we come
in contact. Good manners come naturally to a person who is bred-up in a
cultured family. On the contrary, an ill-bred person has no manners. Good
manners are, therefore, the sign that a certain person has been brought up on
the right lines.
Good
manners are very necessary for progress in life. They help us to win the favour
and confidence of others. They are a sure passport to success in life. An
ill-mannered person, on the other hand, is disliked by everyone and has no
chance of success in any walk of life we joins. Good manners endear us to
others. A polite answer turns away anger and a kind word uttered in time saves
a person from many troubles. It is politeness which succeeds while ability
fails. Even a good action will lose its value if the person doing favour utters
impolite words.
I
give you an example, like when you are in your organization you should not go
on talking all the time but let others has their say. It is bad manners to go
on talking even if others do not feel interested in the talk. Let us look to
the convenience of others. 'Live and let others live' should be our motto.
In
this course also, you will be exposed to the importance of appearance. It is because a person’s appearance gives the
first impression on the employer. The manner in which you appear shows
an aspect that you’re motivated and ready to work. Dress in a manner
that does not draw to much attention and that is appropriate for the
environment in which you are working.
Ladies
and gentlemen,
Have
you heard about work ethics? Work ethic is described as hard work and
diligence. No matter how tough life gets, if you put your all into your work, good
things will come to you. Therefore our organization also offered a special
course to improve self-awareness in work ethics. Staying positive, refusing to
procrastinate and maintaining your focus are all necessary ingredients to build
a strong and rewarding work ethic.
Other strategies are to have great workers whom are setting a goal of
dependability, always meeting deadlines and stepping up to fill unmet needs. In
this course you will learn about how to stay positive. You've probably heard the expression,
"Attitude is everything." That's definitely true when you're working
on creating a resilient work ethic. Your work improves when you approach it
with a positive attitude. No matter what, staying positive about your tasks
will help you become a rock star at work. You'll not only stand out to your
supervisor, but your colleagues will notice, too.
Apart from that you also will learn how to keep your focus. When your plans
are clear, you'll get more work done in less time. Start focused and stay
focused. You'll work like a machine when you devote your attention on the
subject at hand.
The most crucial to developing a strong work ethic is always meet deadlines. Do whatever
you have to do to meet a deadline. Of course, the best way to ensure you
consistently meet deadlines is to negotiate in advance of taking on the task,
so you have a bit of a say in the schedule. In the event your supervisor
assigns you a project that must be done by a certain date in the near future,
clarify right away with your boss what he sees as your priorities. By this, you
have gained permission to alter the due dates on some of your other tasks to
take on the urgent project. If you communicate right away any concerns you have
about deadlines, you're in a position to negotiate some of them. The bottom
line is you'll ultimately be meeting deadlines approved by your supervisor.
We've all been on a committee where jobs were being assigned, the
moderator got to a certain task and everyone shrank up or whispered, "Oh,
I'm not taking that job!" A person with a strong work ethic views these
situations as opportunities to stretch himself and show what he can do.
You might even discover a special talent you possess when you volunteer
to take on a job. Consider it another line on your resume when you agree to
write the department manual or perform some other task. Learn to step forward
to fill unmet needs.
When you follow these suggestions, you'll develop great confidence in
your work. Plus, you'll discover that you built something durable for your
future: a strong work ethic that will bring you pride, joy and wealth for years
to come.
Ladies and gentlemen
Now let’s turn to
another point which is skill development in a team work. We are working in a community
environment. True teamwork is the rarest, most exhilarating, and most productive
human activity possible. Every business wants to harness this incredible
energy, but achieving such a level of motivation and esprit is not always easy.
So always remember that a team is
not just a group of individuals who work at the same location or have the same
logo on their business card. A real team is made up of people who may be
unequal in experience, talent, or education, but who are equal in their
commitment to working together to achieve the goals and good of the
organization, each other and their customers.
If we are going to be successful,
we can no longer look at our organizations as departments, divisions, or branch
offices. We must look at the bigger picture and resolve to work together in
ways we may never have done before. We may even need to cooperate with the
competition. Think of all the mergers and acquisitions in the past few years.
Your number one competitor today could be your partner tomorrow.
As we
know in our real life, team work success rarely happens by itself, without
focused team building efforts and activities. That’s why we offered this kind
of course to make sure very minimal space for problems in team work. For
example, different personalities, instead of complementing and balancing each
other, may build up conflicts. Or even worse, some people with similar
personalities may start fighting for authority and dominance in certain areas
of expertise. Even if the team goals are clear and accepted by everyone, there
may be no team commitment to the group goals or no consensus on the means of
achieving those goals: individuals in the team just follow their personal
opinions and move in conflicting directions. There may be a lack of trust and
openness that blocks the critical communication and leads to loss of
coordination in the individual efforts. This is why every team needs a good
leader who is able to deal with all such team work issues.
Here are some
examples of team building ideas, techniques, and tips you will get in managing
teams course. The first and foremost make sure that the team goals are totally
clear and completely understood and accepted by each team member. Then make
sure there is complete clarity in who is responsible for what and avoid
overlapping authority. For example, if there is a risk that two team members
will be competing for control in certain area, try to divide that area into two
distinct parts and give each more complete control in one of those parts,
according to those individual's strengths and personal inclinations.
We
must bear in mind such teamwork doesn’t happen by accident. It requires
commitment and effort, a willingness to accept the uniqueness of others, and an
appreciation of diversity. We build teams in our companies the same way we
build relationships with our friends and co-workers. High-functioning teams
establish us and our companies as reliable, internally and externally. We then
project this image to our customers, vendors, competitors, and communities.
Have you heard about a sentence that, “leaders are
born, not made”. This may be true to some extent because many people display
some intrinsic traits right from birth, which put them in the position where
they are looked up as leaders. A person’s authoritativeness, confidence in
speech and action and the ability to handle crisis without panic are considered
some of the most effective leadership qualities, which sets people apart from
the crowd. There are so many qualities that a good leader should have, but I
can just give you some of it and the others you will learn it from time to
time. As a leader, you must have all of these qualities such as honesty,
confidence, patience, focus and the most important thing is you know how to
motivate others. All of these qualities will be elaborate more when you
attending your course while working here later.
To all of you, and last but not least,
Another
self-development program that we will serve you is focusing on ICT Skill. As a
worker in this millennium era, the objective of this program is to equip all FELDA
staff with ICT skills to meet future and current employment requirements. We
will provide you ICT skills which enabled you to overcome day-to-day obstacles.
ICT skill is considered as a lifelong skill for enhancing our future career
prospects. ICT adds value to the processes of learning, and in the organization
and management of learning institutions. The Internet is a driving force for
much development and innovation in both developed and developing countries
right now.
Ladies
and gentlemen,
Those are the courses that we as the management try to share
with you. We understand that each individual has a distinct persona that can
be developed, polished and refined. This
process includes boosting one’s confidence, improving communication and language
speaking abilities, widening ones scope of knowledge,
developing certain hobbies or skills, learning fine etiquettes and
manners, adding style and grace to the way one looks, talks, walks and overall with positivity, liveliness and peace.
After this, I personally want all of you to start digging for knowledge, search
everywhere and always feel hunger for information. Go for more and maybe you
want to consider furthering your study. Reach as high as you can and remember
the sky has no limit.
At
last I hope you will be enjoy working here and thanks a lot for lending me your
ears. We will see again later and please remember, take care of this
organization and I promise, the organization will also take care of you. Make
